Paper Fashions premiere in Doctor Faustus at Quintessence Theater
I was honored to contribute some of my paper fashions to the Quintessence theater's production of Marlowe's Doctor Faustus, which premiered yesterday night in Philadelphia.
The paper wings adorn opposing angels who torment Faustus whilst he makes poorer and poorer decisions. Here are some samples from the show:
It's remarkable to be included in such a passionate act of art. The theater company is non-profit, yet goes to great pains to make sure the actors get compensated for their craft. And craft it is, for I was drawn into the play with ferocity and enjoyed the dark humors, struggles and relentless creativity.
Special thanks to my friend Chris Llione for considering me for this epic spectacle.
Please make some time to see the show. Here are the details:

I'm delighted to share something different than my usual fare for you - a fun listen as Allan Weitz, Levi Tenenbaum and I waxed technical and philosophical about 2015's most interesting cameras. That was fun! Listen below or here.

Flashlight Mob Photo Walk at WPPI 2015 in Las Vegas
Want to join me for a Photo Walk? I hope you do!
We’re going to have fun with light and long exposures.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Forget what you know. Shake loose of the structure for a couple hours. Experiment with light with an enthusiastic mob of light-bringers. On our photo walk, we’re going to play with time dilation (long exposures), constant light sources, flash, and light writing. And mix it up with other attendees to work on understanding how to make a portrait of someone in low light.
WHAT TO BRING:
You will have a superior experience if you bring: a tripod, a light source or three (flashlight, speedlite, toy LEDs, etc.) but it’s not required. A monopod would be great if you don’t have a tripod. Other good things to bring – ND Filters, external intervalometer controller, radio triggers.
BONUS GEAR:
Olympus, Oben and Vulta are sending along some fun gear to use! Here is what we'll have with us for you to play with:
3 - Olympus E-M1 w/12-40mm lens
2 - Olympus E-M5 MK II w/12-40mm lens
5 - Oben At-3421 Aluminum Tripod w.BA-106 Head
5 - Vulta Hurricane 620 Lumen Flashlights
I am especially excited to show anyone who wants to use it how to use the Live Bulb mode on the Olympus cameras to learn how to nail light painting. The cameras are free to use during the photo walk if you are curious or simply want to show up and shoot with that. Just bring your own SD cards!
WHEN: Tue, Mar 3, 2015 - 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Mermaid Parade 2014
Our dear friend (and Night Paper volunteer) Sincerely Yours invited us to march in the Mermaid Marching Band this year at the 2014 Mermaid Parade in Coney Island. It was, simply put, a fantastic day.
Fact: I had not used my sax in many, many years.
Another fact: I did not practice the music prior to today.
A final fact: We had fun anyway! woohoo!
Here is a bunch of photos shot today with my IR-converted Canon G9. Good day for it.
